Vintage is still going strong

On July 22nd, 2009 by .

The love of vintage interiors and accessories looks like it’s here to stay so I thought I would post some images from a vintage shoot I worked on with my photographer friend Jemma Watts.  The brief was a pretty vintage summer picnic.  It’s a really easy look to create and would be lovely to use for a party picnic with friends.

Vintage looks

I love pretty tins like the one in the photo above.  I am always on the hunt for them in vintage and charity shops.  They are great for cutlery but also as pen pots and the larger ones as cake tins.  They also look great teamed with old french linen napkins. (more…)

On July 14th, 2009 by .

Selling homes in a collapsed housing market is tough which is why Pippa Jameson Interiors has collaborated with Oliver Heath to bring you 5 keys tips on how to sell your home in a recession.  Here we look at cleaning your home in preparation for sale…

oliver-080323_low3 PART 2: Cleanliness

Home cleaning costs anywhere between £30-70 and this will hire you a team of cleaners to come in and give the house a once over.  Also, having the carpets cleaned can be done for as little as £20 and will have them looking brand new again.  If it will sell your house then it is worth it! (more…)

Interiors UAE is the leading design event for the Emirates and wider Middle East will return from the 29 – 31 March 2010 in Abu Dhabi .

Inaugurated by H.E Mohammed Omar Abdullah, Under Secretary of the Economic Department, Interiors UAE 2009 received more than 3,600 visitors, highlighting the Middle East’s burgeoning interiors market.

The exhibition provided an ideal platform to accentuate local flair, with Middle Eastern companies and designers such as Alpha Crystal, Alomi, and Bost Trading, showcasing creative products and designs.

The Decorex International pavilion made its debut this year bringing with it names such as Cole and Son, Gingerlilly, Andrew Martin, and Bery Designs, all of whom wowed visitors with their inspiring stands. Luxury Cushions revealed their attempt for the largest cushion in the world, marking the launch of their new collection. The cushion will hopefully secure them a Guinness World Record, with high profile witnesses attending the event to certify the cushion.

An impressive line up of speakers facilitated the seminars that ran alongside the exhibition, including Fariborz Hatam from Adeas, Hazem El Khatib from Design Design and Karen Howes of Taylor Howes. The seminars provided visitors with insight into future trends and covered topics such as: Sustainable life, Culture connect: the art & craft of preserving heritage in modern times, Metamorphosis…….a new era to a contemporary Mosque and the world of international interior design.

Global Color Research returned to this years show with an exciting interactive feature. A colour workshop took place on their stand which saw some of the Middle East’s key industry personnel create two unique colour palettes for the 2011 market.
