Following on from my Trend post; I am continuing with the ‘white’ look. The last post I did talked about ‘white on white’. Here I am going to look at using white with splashes of bright and bold colours such as aqua and fuchsia. I love this look as it’s so fresh and vibrant; some are calling it ‘modern vintage’.
To create this style, start with a white backdrop, i’e pale walls; any off white colour would work. For similar paints try Dulux, Zoffany or Kelly Hoppen paints, pale floors; so light carpets and if you have them or painted floorboards. A good place to buy floor paint is Ecos Organic Paints. Opt for white or off white furniture; Heals or furniture Village. Finally choose light coloured curtains; try The Natural Curtain Company for this. They have a large selection of modern and stylish fabrics and will cater for any style. The image to the right shows part of their range. The white curtains and furniture teamed with bright cushions, throws and accessories is a perfect example of ‘Modern Vintage’.
