Mini free festival hits London this Saturday

This is meant to be a great local festival for kids and adults,  I will try and post some pics if I manage to make it along.  Here is what the organisers have to say…

A Summer of fun in Hackney’s parks launches this Saturday 22 May with a free all-day mini festival in London Fields. Simon Atkinson, Mestre of East London Capoeira Group, who will be running free Capoeira for Kids in Hackney Parks every week over the Summer.

The mini-festival will give visitors their first taste of summer events to come in Hackney’s Parks from May-September.

London Fields will be turned into three festival style “villages” where visitors can join the Hackney melting pot of TV chefs, urban gardeners, home-grown bands and natural play.  For more information click this link

Another month passes and I am now halfway through my maternity leave.  It’s been a busy time as all the A/W winter press shows are begginning which is always an exciting time.  On the work front, the good news is that we now have a builder confirmed for the pub renovation and should be ready to start the styling in about 6-8 weeks.  I’m really looking forward to styling the master suite where I determined to have a circular bath – even though the builder said it would be a plumbing nightmare!  We were asked to style the Commercial for ‘We buy and car’ today, you must have seen it, the song stays in your head for days after the commercial!  I am still trying to find time to blog whilst on maternity leave but I also want to make sure I enjoy this special time with my baby before i’m back in the office!

I think this a great little book by Terence Conran, published by Conran Octopus.  The first thing that appeals to me is the size.  Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love chunky coffee table books, but how refreshing to see something so stylish produced in a bite size package, and, to be able to take it out and about with you; something that comes in handy if you are working on a decorating project.

Then of course, there is the content.  I think this book covers just about every aspect of home design, from clearing out the clutter to utilising redundant space in your home (a problem that effects most of us!).  There is a section dedicated to storage, which in my opinion is the secret to happiness!  You can click here to order the book from Amazon for £8.59 and if you buy it, do let me know what you think…
