Press shows and shoots

I managed to do two solid days of Christmas press shows and really liked some of the things on show. John Lewis had a particulary gorgeous selection as did The White Company. One key look this christmas white and lots of it!
Styling- we have the Post Office shoot next week and them I off on hols!!!! Back to work when I return, happy and sad about this as Amber will be going to nursery ;0(

Only 4 weeks until I am back to work and so its full speed ahead with the styling. We have a large makeover project for a corporate client and then a shoot for The Post office through DMB Media (the same agency we worked with for the Sainsbury’s shoot). The creative team for this job will be the London agency Mother-should be fun! I have to say though, I am tinged with a little sadness as a lot of people who work in my office are leaving :0( So much changes when you go on maternity leave!

I am feeling rather happy and inspired this week as I have been shooting again. I was offered a job that I really wanted to do and I thought as I’m back to work in 6 weeks I had better start saying ‘yes’ to work rather than giving it away to other stylist friends.
It was a promotional shoot for Sainsbury’s food. I had to prop for 15 food set ups; this included, plates, runners, cutlery, glasses, flowers etc…a lot of props!! Although it was really hard work it was soooo enjoyable. It might sound really corny but it made me realise how much I love my job and how much I had missed shooting. Great team to. The agency was DMB Mediaand the photographer was Kate Peters.

Another month passes and I am now halfway through my maternity leave. It’s been a busy time as all the A/W winter press shows are begginning which is always an exciting time. On the work front, the good news is that we now have a builder confirmed for the pub renovation and should be ready to start the styling in about 6-8 weeks. I’m really looking forward to styling the master suite where I determined to have a circular bath – even though the builder said it would be a plumbing nightmare! We were asked to style the Commercial for ‘We buy and car’ today, you must have seen it, the song stays in your head for days after the commercial! I am still trying to find time to blog whilst on maternity leave but I also want to make sure I enjoy this special time with my baby before i’m back in the office!

Over the last month we have been continuing with the pub renovation and will hopefully have the builder confirmed in the next few weeks. We have also styled more sets for TV, although I had to pass this job on to another trusted stylist as I won’t be shooting for another month or so :0( We are also liaising with several design companies who are looking to use some of our styling images for their websites! Finally, I have been interviewed by the lovely founder of Patchwork Harmony, the well known vintage interiors blog. The interview will be published in a few weeks time.

Keeping busy whilst on maternity leave

It’s been a busy, stressful and exciting month for us. As well as looking after the newest addition to the family, we are also moving house and trying to juggle work. Why is it that everything happens at once!

-We were asked to style an advertorial for Marie Claire but passed the job over to a good friend of mine as it’s a bit too soon after the baby.
-We are hoping to interview Jamie Oliver for the blog about his new homeware collection – I’ll keep you posted on this one…
-We now have 8 weeks to go until the pub renovation is due to be completed. I am going to be pass the job over to a stylist friend as sadly with my little one being poorly, I don’t have time to work on it. Luckily the whole design is planned and all that needs doing is the propping and styling (the best bits!).
-We had an exciting meeting with Gloss Media who will now be looking after all the advertising for Pippa Jameson Interiors

New baby & interview with Laurence Llewelyn Bowen!

Our beautiful baby girl has arrived! As predicted, she was one week early and is absolutely perfect. It’s day 6 and she is still having a massive sleep fest – hence me being able to blog!

We have lots of really exciting projects on the go at the moment. The first is our exciting interview with Laurence Llewelyn Bowen by our Shopping Contributor Liz Danon. Laurence talks to us about his latest collection for Matalan as well as giving us a sneaky insight into his personal interior tastes, forthcoming trend predictions, and how to put a style together! Look out for this article next week.

Update on the pub renovation; I will now be designing one of the rooms as a master/bridal suite which I am really excited about! I am going to be looking into 4-poster beds, twin sinks, floor standing mirrors and everything else you’d expect to have in a boutique wedding room!

The pub renovation job is going well. I met with the Builder today to discus my ideas and show him the room plans I have designed. They are due to start ripping out the old rooms in a few weeks and then the fun starts! We are now designing 6 rooms rather than 5 as apparently if you have 6 rooms or more then you can class yourself as a hotel. This in turn means you can be listed in all the good hotel guides and hopefully gain star ratings.

We now have a deadline of the beginning of May as all the rooms have been booked out for a wedding – there’s nothing like a tight deadline to work towards! It will be great to style though and I am really looking forward to creating a little boutique hotel! I will keep you posted with the next installment…no doubt there will be a new baby by then as I am now due in 6 days!

Styling the latest Wii commercial

We have now finished the Wii commercial and no baby! A big thank you to my brilliant assistant Jo Thornhill who put in 100% (as always). The shoot was a success and everyone seemed very pleased with the set! I’ll post a link to the new commercial when it’s aired. So, 2 weeks to go until the baby arrives and I’m still finishing off a few bits – I think I’m a workaholic! At least I am working from home now rather than in the office ;0)
