Heal’s are once again hosting the fantastic works by Jealous Gallery & Print Studio. For one week only, until 5th February 2012, Jealous will take up residence in the prestigious Tottenham Court Road flagship store and turn their display windows into live studio spaces. Here, original works will be created by talented artists such as; Amanda Marie, Jayoon Choi, Damien Weighill, Sara Pope and emerging artists such as Diana Taylor, Andrew Curtis, An Gee Chan, Ian Gronzarow, Sarah Fotheringham, Cornelia Balte, Ceal Warnants and Simone Lia and showcasing the Jealous Needs You initiative, Jealous at Heal’s will offer a fresh approach to accessible and contemporary art. This highly interactive and creative project will allow customers to work together with on-site artists, illustrators and designers as well as taking part in personalising and printing their own editions. A show not to be missed…

Based in North London, Jealous Gallery and Print Studio are dealers and publishers of limited edition prints, with a changing program of exhibitions featuring work by emerging and established artists from varied schools, movements and styles. Producing prints for artists including Charming Baker, Peter Blake and Ben Eine and exhibiting at Multiplied at Christies South Kensington and having worked recently with The Royal Academy of Arts, Jealous are an exciting collaboration at Heal’s for 2012.

Jealous at Heal’s will see the window space split into three distinct areas, each with its own focus on live studio practice and printmaking equipment. Each area will host 3-4 different artists printing editions live on site, building up the walls and windows and keeping the showcase space active and exciting throughout the week long event.

Prices for small prints start from just £35 and range up to £600 and 10% off sales will be donated to the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.

What a great start to the month, before Christmas I was preparing myself for a quite January, how wrong I was. It’s been great but a little crazy, last week we shot all the new images for Kersaint Cobb, where I was working with the fantastic Jon Day, he’s such a great photographer and always captures a stunning image. We were lucky enough to be shooting at LordshipPark, so thank you to Sarah & Brian for being so relaxed, thank you to Carrie for helping to sort some props and lastly, great to work with the lovely girls at Hillgate x.

I was also shooting on Saturday but didn’t mind giving up my day as it was a great project. The shoot was for the cover of a celebrity’s new book. Jemma Watts was the photographer and also shot the rest of the book, well done Jemma, you have done a fantastic job in such a quick turnaround!

This week we are working on a piece for Beautiful Kitchens magazine (May issue), a Nikon job, another lifestyle Ad shoot and starting to prep for a Hotpoint job. I have a piece in the Q&A section of Beautiful Kitchens, February 2012 issue, where I am on their Expert Panel.

xx

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a great Christmas break. It’s my first day back in the office after nearly 3 weeks and so I’m a little overwhelmed with work ;0)
As you will have seen, the blogging was nonexistent while I was away, sorry about, full steam ahead now though.
We had a great end to 2011, styling a shoot for Nikon with Melanie Sykes, it was great fun as we had to recreate a picture from her Childhood. She was so lovely to work with, you can see the feature here: Melanie Sykes

I then did a stint on national radio for LG Electronics, talking about how to have a stress free Christmas – ill post the link so you can have a listen.

We’re now working on another job for Nikon and a big lifestyle shoot for Kersaint Cobb, which I am really excited about ;0)

Bye for now x

One of my favourite blogs to read has to be Sweet Paul, written by New York City based, Norwegian, Paul Lowe – a food and prop stylist. His craft creations and yummy recipes are used in many editorial and commercial projects; but most notably in his own online and free publication, Sweet Paul Magazine.

Paul’s Oslo heritage can be seen in all aspects of his work. Cleverly working light, texture and colour in an effortlessly chic way. Crafting also comes naturally to Paul which gives him the edge to think out of the box and create something truly special. His beautiful images and food creations will not only make your mouth water, but they’ll leave you inspired. Sweet Paul’s recipes are easy to follow and due to the rustic, fun nature of the images – you don’t feel intimidated to try them. The elegant recipes are for home, friends and family; rather than Masterchef professionals!

I have certainly noticed that Christmas is becoming more personalised and crafty from year to year. The possibilities of how you decorate and style your dining table, gift wrap and trees are endless and provide you with opportunities to take the time to enjoy more than just the food and presents! I recently stumbled across this image of a gorgeously designed Christmas spread, which successfully combines rustic, contemporary, earthy, romantic and beachy styling. My favourite touch is the hanging pine cones! What is your theme this year for the festive season? Image via: Sweet Paul
