In any season, particularly the cooler months, I simply can’t resist soft and earthy neutrals, but I am loving the pops of fresh berry and citrus brights seeping into design collections as of late. The unexpected bursts of colour make for great features. I might just have to add a splash of raspberry somewhere this Winter, even if it’s an inspired floral arrangement to brighten things up. Are you daring enough to incorporate these colours into your interiors?

Jubilee Jollies

2012 really is a great year to be British! Not only do we have the Olympics this Summer, but it is also our grand old Queen’s Diamond Jubilee; a remarkable achievement with only Queen Victoria as a fellow monarch to reach such Jubilee heights. The Jubilee weekend will stretch from the 2nd to the 5th of June, and is sure to be packed full of celebrations and events all across Grand ol’ Blighty; street parties and pic-nic’s galore!

With the recent gloomy Spring it’s a great time to look ahead and start planning your Jubilee celebrations. Think red, blue and white. Think crowns, corgies, champers and yummy treats; cucumber sandwiches (no crusts) and scones! To help you get started here is a selection of beautiful Jubilee party themed products…

Christmas (!) 3M & private jets

It’s 6.47am and I am sitting on a train, heading up north for a meeting about my first Christmas job (!) Is it me or does this come earlier every year? With the planning under way for this job, I am also working on a book with the lovely Jemma Watts. Not sure I can say much more about it other than it’s with Kyle books and it’s going to be lovely! I will of course share the work once it’s finished.

Last week we finished shooting for our private jet client, it was a great brief which meant we were shooting at a couple of gorgeous locations. Thanks to Lavish Locations and 1st-option for being so patient with shoot dates moving no less than 3 times!

We have now finished two large jobs with 3M Command, ‘How to create a children’s den’ and ‘Spring update’ (some of the images can be seen here. I know I’m biased as I am their Ambassador but the products really are great (I haven’t been paid to say this!) Just in case you are not aware; they enable you to hand pretty much anything on the walls without using nails – damage free hanging. Perfect for protecting your walls and especially good if you are in rented accommodation.

I’ve arrived and off to look at tree decorations – Merry Christmas everyone!

Serax Maison d’etre

The images below are from the 2012 collection of Serax-Maison d’être, a company that flourished after two sons took over their mothers business under the name of Serax. I was fortunate enough to see their collection at Maison 2012 and it didn’t disappoint. Offering a selection of modern interior objects, their collection ranges from original glassware to elegant services and tea-light candles. What I love most about this collection is the mix of snowy whites against the punchy Pantone colours.

Creative displays by Pippa Jameson

Last month, I worked on a great shoot with photographer Jemma Watts, looking at creative ways to display pictures and home accessories, using a selection of 3M’s Command products.

When it comes to wall displays you don’t have to stick to conventional set-ups, think about what you are hanging and try to have a little fun. Our styled collection has a retro feel, with most of the items having been up-cycled or restored. We started by painting the wall in a rich grey, this created the perfect backdrop to the punchy reds and bright mustard. It may not be your obvious choice for the wall, but this demonstrates that with the right light and accessories, slate grey can look striking and above all, warm.

My favourite item is the handmade peg rail which has been made from old yard sticks, genius. We used the Command picture hanging strips to attach it to the wall, just make sure you check the weight of the products against the back of the Command packet. All products wall are from the fabulous Home Barn, they sell a mixture of home accessories that have been lovingly restored and transformed into very cool and individual pieces.

BlogTour NYC: Part 4

Here are a few pictures from the showroom of the One 57 building, a tour carried out by Miele as part of our BlogTourNYC. Located at 157 West 57th Street in New York, this 90-story condominium tower will boast spectacular views of Central Park. One 57 will be one of the highest mixed-used towers in Manhattan, where residents will enjoy exclusive 5-star services provided by the Park Hyatt hotel, which will be located on the lower 30 floors. Christian De Portzamparc is the architect and Thomas Juul-Hansen will design the interiors.

Commissioned by Smallbone, the kitchen spec was first class with the all the latest mod-cons and appliances. I particularly liked the furniture they had chosen, the wooden textures made a refreshing contrast against the dramatic marble work surfaces. The lighting was simplistic and used in a way that created drama and elegance. The bar stools were also very cool as they were completely hidden and integrated into the island.

This is a small model of the building and illustrates how high it will sit amongst the New York skyline.

After the One 57 building we headed off to Miele’s stylish showroom where we had super
cooked for us by the fantastic Adam Schop, Miele’s Table Artist.

BlogTour NYC: Part 3

My BlogTour trip to New York seems like a distant memory, but there are still lots of fantastic pictures to share with you. Below are some images from the fabulous D&D building (Decoration & Design). Housing some of the world’s most sought after Interior companies, the D&D building is home to 130 premier showrooms with over 20,000 design and architectural professionals passing through each month. The building also offers cutting edge programming including; events, exhibitions, a design concierge service as well as the famed chef and restaurateur Charlie Palmer’s ASTRA cafe.

This was the stunning mosaic outside the D&D building. As well as the
gorgeous furniture and home accessories, each floor housed the most incrediable artwork

Two of my favourite design pieces, both Lorin Marsh. The chair is a modern interpretation
of Japanese design, taking elements such as the signature lacquer finish and transforming it into a
21st Century chair

The lights are original, salvaged from an old industrial factory.

Citta Design: Winter 2012 collection

I have a real soft spot for Japanese design, for its’ simplicity and timeless, cultural beauty.

One of my favourite design houses ‘Citta Design’, have really impressed me once again with their Winter 2012 collection, inspired by the chaos and refined simplicity in their take on the the mecca city that is Tokyo. Their site is so beautifully and appropriately styled for their range.

My favourite pieces are their rockpool mug and geometric plates and placemats! Check out more of their Tokyo range here.

Pretty Norfolk beach huts

Hi all, sorry for the lack of blogging, I’ve been in Norfolk for the week and made myself switch off my computer! We had a lovely time and contray to ALL weather reports, we had a week of glorious sunshine. Below are a few snaps from our day out at North Beach in Heacham, such pretty huts, they remind me of when I was younger as we used to hire one down in Frinton.
