I am often approached by independent shops and designers asking me to talk about their new products, sadly, I am unable to feature everything but I try my best to include items that really stand out or pieces that I feel will appeal to my readers, Princelets falls into this category. This new online shop offers an affordable collection with wide appeal, selling a mixture of stylish printed textiles including tea-towels, cushions and bags, simplistic and pretty glassware and striking outdoor lanterns.

Beautiful Bloomingville

I have just been sorting through all of my press releases and brochures from BlogTourNYC (which are now 3 months old!) and found myself glued to the A/W Bloomingville collection. The fast growing wholesale company is based in Denmark and produces product for the home and garden. Their products are a mixture of scandi, french and industrial vintage and I LOVE it all!! BlogTour NYC: Part 3

My BlogTour trip to New York seems like a distant memory, but there are still lots of fantastic pictures to share with you. Below are some images from the fabulous D&D building (Decoration & Design). Housing some of the world’s most sought after Interior companies, the D&D building is home to 130 premier showrooms with over 20,000 design and architectural professionals passing through each month. The building also offers cutting edge programming including; events, exhibitions, a design concierge service as well as the famed chef and restaurateur Charlie Palmer’s ASTRA cafe.

This was the stunning mosaic outside the D&D building. As well as the
gorgeous furniture and home accessories, each floor housed the most incrediable artwork

Two of my favourite design pieces, both Lorin Marsh. The chair is a modern interpretation
of Japanese design, taking elements such as the signature lacquer finish and transforming it into a
21st Century chair

Wishing the chair could be mine…

I fell in love with this floor standing lamp from Fortuny and just look at the rest of their showroom (below).
The lights are original, salvaged from an old industrial factory.

As you can image the Donghia showroom was stunning, think silks, texture and luxury.

As each new season draws near, I eagerly await the catalogue of my current favourite design house, Citta Design. This savvy, New Zealand based company always manage to get it right. This week, I enjoyed flipping through the pages of their Spring/Summer range for 11/12. Their Cuban inspired collection ties together the warm neutral tones of last season with the freshness of warmer days to come. Let’s just say, I have a few items circled and added to my wishlist….

Introducing Polly Hope

I recently came across the work of Polly Hope and wanted to share it with you all as I am a big fan. Her Eco freindly collection includes interior textiles, cushions, lamp shades, upholstered chairs and illustrations. I think her choice of colours are spot on. The style is decorative and feminine but has a very sophisticated feel due to her choice of subtle colours. Her cushions would make a fantastic focal point on any plain chair, bed or sofa. I am particularly drawn to the one below, uh oh, I can feel a purchase coming on…(the only down side to this job is that when you see something you fall in love with you just HAVE to have it!)

Here is what Polly has to say about the collection: “The textiles are special because they are very Eco friendly, all organic cottons, peace silks and linens and the dying and printing is carried out naturally using herbal dyes and designed by me. I spent 4 months in India last year researching the right factory for production, it was important for me to know the people I was working with and make sure the whole production process was sustainable and the workers were treated fairly.” Click here to see for of her work and her contact details. Limited edition cushions

As I walk past this shop every day on my way to work I eye up the displays. These two beautiful, limited edition cushions, designed by artists and illustrators can be used to accessorise and compliment a room. They would look fantastic on a light and neutral sofa.

The cushion cover is printed on one side using non toxic water based inks on to a super soft faux suede. I love the vibrancy of the colours and the artistic quality on an unusual surface. There is also something very satisfying about having an original piece of Art for the home.
