I am currently the prop stylist for a gorgeous new book called ‘Children’s Party Food’, published by Kyle Books and shot by the talented Jemma Watts. If we stay on track, it should be on your shelves by September 2013. The very delicious recipes are by Hats & Bells (Hatty Stead and Annabel Waley-Cohen) and tried, tested and produced by Gee Charman.

We are half way through the book and my waistline is fast expanding, on the plus side, my children are beginning to LOVE my job, never before have they received such delicious treats on a daily basis! Below are just some of the gorgeous homeware accessories from my vast prop room! Many thanks again to VV Rouleaux for your gorgeous ribbons and China & Co for your endless props!

Introducing: St Aidan’s Homeware Store

I am always on the hunt for new and exciting interior finds, so when this email popped into my inbox, I had to share it with you. Launched by Joe McIntyre, the previous Art Director of Coast magazine, St Aidan’s is an online homeware store selling a collection of quirky and cool finds. Having had a life long passion for interiors, when Joe was faced with redundancy, he this felt like this was the right time to fulfil his dream of a homeware business.

“I set up St Aidan’s as a place to help source those quirky, cool finds that help give our homes a bit more personality. Beach shoot for Heart Home Magazine

As the weather becomes colder and the winter coats come out, we are all turning towards our cozy home accessories. It’s all about knitted cushions, large cable knit throws mixed with a few of your favourite things. This is exactly what we used in my last shoot for Heart Home magazine which was shot at the end of the Summer. Our main focus was texture, combining the chunky textiles, reclaimed woods with soft petrol blues; just look at the beautiful colour of the thistle! I have just been sorting through all of my press releases and brochures from BlogTourNYC (which are now 3 months old!) and found myself glued to the A/W Bloomingville collection. Vintage inspiration

The following images are from the blog, ‘My Shabby Streamside Studio’, and belong to the talented Sandra Foster. Her pure and simple style is breathtaking, combining white on white interiors with pretty vintage accessories.

Tips on vintage styling:
- Use old medicine bottles as vases, clear glass look best.
- Use old french linen as a tablecloth, embroidered edging looks super cute.
- Hang vintage bags on door knobs or if you have one, on the corner of your metal bedstead.
- Shabby chic some old pine chairs, take a look at our guide on ‘How to Shabby Chic furnitre’.
- White metal bird cages are still a firm favourite, try filling one with tea-lights and hang it above your dining table as a feature light.
