I was asked by Cordello Home to shoot a tabletop story for their crockery and was more than happy to do so as I love their style. The signature collection (below) is so pretty and individual, made from bone china the pieces feel so special to handle, perhaps this is because the pattern has been inspired by the shape of a heart making it feel extra delicate. I wouldn’t normally go near anything that is covered with love hearts but this clever design has been turned into a repeated linear design, and adapted in size depending on what items it’s been printed on. The fashionable blue and white palette makes the range feel classic and yet the design is so contemporary.
Valentines day is just around the corner and if like me, you want to avoid a million other couples, why not have a lovely breakfast at home with the one you love instead? I guess that’s the beauty of this collections, yes, it’s great for Valentines day as it has hearts on but because of the clever design, it’s not at all overpowering, merely pretty. No tabletop is complete without flowers, pale pink and white work well with this collection, anything brighter would fight with the patterns.
If you plan to leave a romantic postcard on the breakfast table in the morning, black and white would look especially stylish teamed with a simple flower stem in a coffee cup. I know this can look a little bonkers when you see it in a magazine but I think it’s perfectly fine when it’s on your table at home, you’ll just have to remove it before you make the fresh coffee!
If you don’t like the idea of a flower stem in a cup, simply lay it on top of your side plate, be sure to do this last so that the flower isn’t out of water for that long. Whoever you share your valentines with this year, I hope it’s a nice one ;)
